Philanthropy Day November 15, 2006

Award honorees in the patio at CordeValle

To celebrate “National Philanthropy Month,” the Morgan Hill Community Foundation in co-sponsorship with CordeValle hosted a luncheon where local non-profit organizations honored individuals and businesses that have contributed and enriched our community with their time, talent, and treasure.

To commemorate the date, the honorable Mayor Dennis Kennedy presented the Foundation with a City Proclamation, to be officially made public at the City Council meeting later that evening, making November 15, 2006, the first annual observance of Morgan Hill Community Philanthropy Day.

Keynote speaker Rehett Hall, who attended local schools and played eight years in the NFL, spoke of his philanthropic experiences in the communities where he played. He shared many heartfelt stories of his community service and the inspiration he receives when he serves.

During the recognition ceremony, Dave Reisenauer, president of the Foundation, presented twenty eight individual awards and two organizational awards to nominees from local non-profit organizations.

The Morgan Hill Community Foundation's service boundaries follow the same boundaries as Morgan Hill Unified School District, which includes South San Jose through San Martin.
